Tambo is a small town located in sunny Queensland, Australia, between Augathella and Blackall on the Matilda Highway that runs through to Longreach and Mount Isa. It is approximately 930km from Brisbane and a long way from the nearest ocean. It is surrounded by many sheep and cattle properties and is the home of the world famous Tambo Teddies. The town population is approximately 430. Tambo is also known as the gateway to Salvator National Park - which backs on to the well known Carnarvon Gorge.
