Have you ever sat back and considered why we love teddy bears so much......especially Tambo Teddies? Well we have- and we came up with the following list of characteristics that make teddy bears absolutely adorable: They never tell you that you're too fat They don't give away secrets They never say 'I told you so' They don't get jealous of your other friends They don't embarrass you at parties They don't tell you that you have bad breath They never borrow money They never beat you at scrabble They never borrow your favourite t-shirt They don't laugh at your clothes...

#Wool

By | Behind The Scenes | No Comments
Our beautiful Tambo Teddy Bears are made from 100% Australian Wool and what a wonderful fibre it is!   Wool is a totally natural and organic fibre that grows on sheep, a bit like hair and when it is cut (shorn) it grows back- a sheep is an obligatory woolgrower. This fabulous fibre is a very environmentally friendly fibre that is soft, lustrous and by just eating grass and drinking water sheep can produce a fibre that no scientist can reproduce.   Wool is a truly magical fibre that has some very unique characteristics; it can absorb up to 70% its own...

There is a wide range of colours and they sometimes vary as different dye batches seem to produce variable shades of the colours we order. How many years has the business been going? Tambo Teddies was started in1992,…

Tambo Teddy Bear Crossing

By | Tambo Updates | One Comment
The Teddy Bear Crossing signs in Tambo are one of a kind! Originally installed outside the old Tambo telegraph office which was the building where Tambo Teddies first began, it was necessary to have the signs shifted when the business out grew the little community premises and shifted into a larger building of their own. It took ten years of lobbying to have the signs shifted to outside no.17 Arthur St the signs where they identify the town’s teddy bear workshop. Tambo Teddies finally gained ministerial and departmental support to secure relocation of the signage in 2009. Minister of the...

Another milestone for Tambo Teddies- teddy bear 40,000

By | Teddy Highlight | No Comments
Bear 40,0000!!! Forty thousand bears have been made since Tambo Teddies began back in 1993 and that is only counting the Toby and Basil bear families. There have been countless Bickie Bears and numerous Koalas created at .little teddy bear factory on Arthur St, Tambo. We decided Bear 40,000 needed to be a bit special to mark this significant milestone so a 2015 replica of the first Tambo Teddy created has been made. So we have been busy in our little teddy bear factory making this  cute teddy bear just like the original. Former owner, Mary Sutherland made the first ever Tambo Teddy after much...
