Chances are when you purchase a Tambo Teddy it might just have the initials ‘VK’ on the bum tag and will have been created in the teddy bear workshop by Tambo Teddies Master Crafter, Verna Kruckow. Our beautiful Tambo Teddy Bears are made from 100% Australian Wool and what a wonderful fibre it is!   Wool is a totally natural and organic fibre that grows on sheep, a bit like hair and when it is cut (shorn) it grows back- a sheep is an obligatory woolgrower. We decided we should answer some of those little things you were wondering about ………. Are they Tambo sheepskins? No, the skins are Australian but they aren’t from Tambo. Tambo is traditionally merino sheep country and merinos have a very soft skin which would not be suitable for making teddy bears. Do you  dye the wool? No the skins come coloured from our supplier.
