If you go down to the Tambo town today
You’re sure of a big surprise!
Well, not every day but some days. A few weeks back we gave our first Tambo Ted Tour where two larger than life ‘Big Teds’ greeted a bus load of visitors and took then on a tour of the teddy bear workshop.
We roped in local ‘actors’ Melissa Iland and her son Merrick as the Teds, and it was surely the highlight of Merrick’s school holidays! Although the suits are a bit hot, Melissa and Merrick thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as did our visitors who had fun lining up for a photo and a cuddle with Tambo Ted.
Melissa said it was great to see the business trying to enhance the visitor experience and making Tambo a bit more of a stopover commenting, ‘I loved helping our community profile by supporting our iconic Tambo Teddies brand to find new friends in our visiting tourists and giving the visitors a story to take home’.
Quite randomly Melissa’s aunt and uncle, John and Delcie, were part of the first Tambo Ted bus tour and took great delight in discovering who was under the big bear head!
The bears treated the visitors to their very own Tambo Teddy Bears picnic full of Ted’s favourite foods; egg sandwiches, queen cakes and scones with jam and cream. And what a beautiful sunny day Tambo turned on for a picnic, quite a change from the cold windy days we had earlier in the week.
We look forward to growing the Tambo Ted Tours and have another couple of booking for 2018.
