Chatham Colt – A Gun of a Teddy
Exciting news is buzzing around the Tambo Clay Target Club as they prepare to cheer on their very own Jack Brandt (grandson of Tambo local’s Tom & Marlene Jarvis). This talented junior member is set to travel to Bywell, England, early next month to represent Australia at the World Junior DTL (Down the Line) Championships. Jack’s dedication and skill have earned him a spot on the Australian team, marking a significant milestone in his young shooting career.
As Jack prepares for his international debut, the Tambo Club and community are rallying behind him with immense pride and support. When we were approached by the Clay Target Club to help with fundraising efforts for Jack’s trip, Tambo Teddies was happy to jump on board. We were very happy to donate a special bear named Chatham Colt. Dressed in an Australian green and gold shooting vest, created by our talented Josie Smith, Chatham Colt was auctioned at a fundraising dinner, fetching an incredible $1600.
The winning bid came from Peter Quinn of Essex Grazing and Andrew Olive of Raglan Brahmans, who then graciously gifted Chatham Colt to Jack and his teammate Bruce Powell. Chatham Colt will now accompany the team to England, serving as the Australian team mascot and a symbol of the community’s support and best wishes.
As Jack embarks on this exciting adventure, we extend our best wishes and unwavering support. The entire Tambo Clay Target Club and local community are behind him, confident that he will represent Australia with distinction and make us all proud.
Stay tuned for updates on Jack’s performance at the World Junior DTL Championships and his continued progress in trench shooting. Let’s cheer on Jack and Chatham Colt as they aim for success and bring home glory for Australia! Go Jack!
