When Brittany from the Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards reached out to see if we’d be interested in supporting this year’s event, we couldn’t have been more thrilled! We absolutely jumped at the chance to collaborate with such a prestigious and meaningful program.

The Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards has an incredible 43-year legacy of recognizing, developing, empowering, and celebrating rural young women. For over four decades, this program has made a huge impact, gaining recognition for its role in shaping young female leaders and turning them into women of influence within their communities—both locally and beyond.

The awards are a staple in Queensland’s agricultural show movement, happening at all levels—from local shows to regional (Sub-Chamber) competitions, and culminating at the State level during the Royal Queensland Show, also known as the EKKA, in August.

After a bit of brainstorming and discussion, we decided to make this year’s event even more special by gifting each of the 11 state finalists their very own commemorative Tambo Teddy. With a little help from our own show, the Tambo Stock Show Inc. we also crafted a winner’s sash, proudly displaying ‘Tambo,’ for each bear to wear. These adorable, sash-wearing bears were presented to the finalists on Friday, August 9th, at View in Brisbane, where the Winner, Runner-Up, and Showgirls’ Choice were announced.

It was such a joy to see our Tambo Teddies playing a part in this event, and we couldn’t be happier to support the future female leaders of rural Queensland!

They are so beautiful and soft and we all loved them! The attention to detail is amazing, I love the mini sashes and how they even have the little tassels at the end!

EKKA Emma now is with me in the Sunshine Coast enjoying some sunshine after we’ve had a week of rain. My cat is very intrigued with the new addition so she is kept safe away from his curious paws!
