Tambo Teddies is proud to be the major sponsor of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Teddy Bears Picnic.

Following on from the inaugural event last year, this picnic can only get better and better. It won’t take long before it becomes a beloved tradition for families.  In 2023, this whimsical gathering was another day of laughter, adventure, and furry friends.

Held at the stunning Picnic Point, the Teddy Bears Picnic provided the perfect backdrop for a day of outdoor fun. Lush lawns, towering trees, tents, music, and activities made for an enchanting atmosphere that captures the essence of the Carnival.

This year the Team from Tambo travelled down to join in the fun! Tammy, Alison, Naomi, Lauren, and Fleur made the journey to help Bonnie and her Toowoomba team hold a market stall and activity tent.

The Teddy Bears Picnic offers a delightful array of activities to keep kids of all ages entertained. From teddy bear parades to face painting, there was something for everyone.

Stage performances ran from the start of the day. Tambo Teddies Adventure books were read on stage by the team from First Five Forever, who used a few bears to really make the stories come to life.

Hoozatt Entertainers presented their fabulous Alice in Teddy Bear Land show which led the audience into the teddy bear parade. Hundreds of bears and their owners marched around the park following Alice and the white rabbit. Judging was a hard task, Tammy and Alison worked with the March Hare and selected the winners. Of the seven categories we are proud that two were won by Tambo Teddy Bears! The Best Dressed and the Most Loved Bears.

Jabinda Joe aka Bindy was the Most Loved Teddy Bear. Little Zadie was given Bindy by her Great Grandmother. Bindy is number 51754 and has almost been ‘loved to death’ and has become a little ‘thread bear’.

At the Teddies tent we had crafting with wool and colouring in, which proved to be a popular activity.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the Teddy Bears Picnic is the sense of community it fosters. Families come together to share in the joy of this special day, creating lasting memories and forging new friendships.
