At Tambo Teddies, our handcrafted bears carry more than just Australian wool and soft stuffing, they carry heart, hope, and a deep connection to the communities we love. Whether it’s providing comfort after hardship or helping raise funds for vital services, we’re proud that our bears are often part of something bigger than themselves.

Over the past twelve months, our commitment to community support has seen our bears travel across the country to help raise spirits, funds, and awareness for a wide variety of causes. From the bush to the big cities, our teddies have taken part in incredible initiatives:

• Western Queensland Flood Appeal: Partnering with the Tambo CWA, we donated bears to support flood-affected families in our own backyard.
• RNA High Tea (Brisbane): A bear was sent to support fundraising for rural education and family services.
• Lady Musgrave Trust’s Haven House: Helping women and children escape domestic violence through safe housing support.
• Do It For Dolly Fundraiser: A cause close to many hearts, promoting anti-bullying awareness and mental health for young people.
• Perth Children’s Hospital: Offering a little comfort to children undergoing medical care.
• Kreation Music, Toowoomba: Supporting creative expression and music therapy programs.
• Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards: Celebrating and encouraging young women making a difference in rural Australia.
• And of course support for our local community groups, including the Tambo Stock Show and the Parents & Citizens Assn Inc., keeping our local roots strong.

We’ve also proudly supported long-standing partners like the Royal Flying Doctor Service, who we’ve donated to many times over the years, and we continue to contribute to the Humpty Dumpty Foundation through the sale of our special HDF Bears.

Every week, we receive multiple requests for donations—and while we wish we could say yes to them all, we simply can’t. Our goal is to support causes we feel strongly connected to or believe are in real need. To help us make thoughtful decisions, we consider the following when reviewing requests:

• Has the requester addressed the letter to Tammy and Alison? It shows they’ve taken the time to understand who we are and what we stand for. A personal touch means a lot.
• How many people will be attending the event? As a small business, we need to ensure that any donation also helps spread the word about our bears and hopefully encourages sales to keep us ticking along.
• Will the organisers send us photos or share updates? We love telling the story behind every donation—why we supported it, who it helped, and how our bears made an impact.

By being thoughtful in our giving, we ensure our contributions are meaningful, both to the causes we support and to the future of our small rural business.
