Celebrating Australian Made Week with Tambo Teddies - 2025
Australian Made Week is a time to shine a light on the amazing products crafted right here in Australia, and this year, Tambo Teddies proudly joined the celebration in a big way! Backed by a far-reaching national advertising and PR campaign, the event inspires shoppers and businesses to support local by choosing products that carry the iconic green and gold kangaroo logo.
Now in its fifth year, Australian Made Week celebrates the creativity, craftsmanship, and dedication of local makers and growers across Australia.
Supporting Australian Made means supporting our local communities, jobs, and industries. It ensures our money stays within the country, helping regional businesses grow and keeping the tradition of high-quality Australian craftsmanship alive. In a world of mass production and offshore manufacturing, choosing Australian Made means choosing integrity, sustainability, and authenticity.
This year’s campaign saw Australian Made ambassador Ken the Kangaroo hopping across the country with a few familiar faces—including celebrities like landscape designer Jamie Durie and Olympic swimmer Bronte Campbell—highlighting the diverse range of Aussie-made products we can all be proud of. Tambo Teddies was thrilled to be included in the fun, sending Ken on a journey to the outback and beyond to showcase our beloved handcrafted bears.
We also had a special media moment, with Alison and Tammy being interviewed by WIN News! They shared how we’re chasing our Olympic dreams—not on the track, but in the workshop. Our vision? Seeing a Tambo Teddy Koala in the hands of every Aussie Olympian!
After all, who better to represent Aussie spirit and heart than a handmade bear from the bush?
In another exciting development, Alison participated in a national consultation with the Australian Fashion Council and iconic brand R.M. Williams to help shape a long-term Australian Manufacturing Strategy. It’s inspiring to know small businesses like ours can contribute to the bigger picture, ensuring Australian Made products continue to thrive well into the future.
Tambo Teddies has always stood for quality, community, and country. Australian Made Week reminds us why that matters. Every teddy we make isn’t just cute, it’s a piece of rural Australia, stitched with love and proudly made on home soil.
So, remember when you choose Australian Made, you’re not just buying a product. You’re supporting dreams, jobs, and generations of makers who believe in the beauty of building something truly Australian.
